Events

Time Period:

On 16 June 2022, as part of the project “STEM it like a Girl”, supported by the Canadian Embassy in Serbia, N. Macedonia and Montenegro (Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives), Macedonia2025 and Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation from Serbia, held a STEM workshop for teachers from Macedonia, Serbia and Canada.

During the workshop, the preliminary findings from the conducted research on the barriers and challenges faced by girls when choosing a career in STEM areas were shared. The research was conducted in primary schools in Macedonia and Serbia with a coverage of over 600 students from 8th and 9th grade.

Additionally, we had the pleasure of being part of three incredibly inspiring, energetic and motivating speeches of teachers from each of the countries involved in the workshop. They shared personal experiences, projects they implemented within the regular or extra-curricular classes, online platforms and opportunities for professional development of teachers. Teachers also provided practical advice and recommendations for improving teaching and raising awareness and the importance of STEM inclusion in education.
